Could Getting More Magnesium Save Your Life?

There has long been research indicating that magnesium plays a key role in preventing diabetes and cardiovascular disease, but the news is only now getting out. Magnesium is found in many whole foods, like nuts, seeds, fish, legumes, vegetables, and dairy, but many people rely too heavily on processed foods and don’t receive the daily amount of magnesium required for optimal health. As a result, they are at an increased risk of developing diabetes and heart conditions as well as other health risks associated with magnesium deficiency. As proof that magnesium deficiency is a likely culprit for many diseases and health problems, some experts point to the fact that despite the prevalence of statins as treatments for high cholesterol, rates of heart disease have continued to rise.
